blogIn situations with high confidentiality requirements, the following network cables are usually used:
First, fiber optic cabling
Main features: The speed and bandwidth of tranSMitting information are high, and 1GBase-T and 10GBase-T are supported within the specified distance, which is 4 to 40 times the rate of Category 6 twisted pair. The line has no electromagnetic radiation, no signal leakage, and is highly secure and confidential.
Application scenarios: Information transmission is very large, requiring high bandwidth and speed, as well as strict information confidentiality requirements.
Shielded twisted pair
STP (Independent Shielded Twisted Pair): An aluminum foil layer is added to the core wire, each pair of wires has an aluminum foil shielding layer, and every 4 pairs of wires are combined with a metal braided shielding layer, which is suitable for high-speed networks and high-security transmission.
SFTP (Double Shielded Twisted Pair): Add braided mesh on the basis of STP, usually aluminum-magnesium wire braided mesh or tinned copper mesh, the outer layer is PVC outer quilt, with two shielding layers, and there must be insulation between the two shielding layers. Isolation, stronger anti-interference and confidential transmission performance, but poor flexibility and high cost.
FTP (aluminum foil shielded twisted pair): It has the advantages of large bandwidth, certain anti-interference ability, and reduced signal attenuation, while recovering low smoke and halogen-free, environmentally friendly.
III. Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
Main features: It is currently the most widely used wiring system cable in the general market. It is used for ordinary network applications with transmission bandwidth below 250MHz. The overall performance meets the requirements, the price is cheap, and the construction and maintenance are convenient. However, the highest performance limit only supports the wiring system of six types of network cables.
Confidentiality: Due to the absence of a shielding layer, the confidentiality performance is relatively poor, making it unsuitable for applications with high confidentiality requirements.
IV. The difference between classified network cabling and non-classified cabling
Spacing requirements: Secret network cabling requires maintaining a specified spacing with other network cabling, telephone lines, security monitoring lines, building automation network lines, fire alarm lines, broadcast lines, cable TV lines, etc.
Independent ground wires, independent cabinets: Secret network wiring requires independent ground wires and cabinets to ensure the security and confidentiality of information.
In summary, fiber optic cabling or shielded twisted pair (such as STP, SFTP, FTP) are usually used in occasions with high confidentiality requirements, while unshielded twisted pair (UTP) has relatively poor confidentiality performance due to its lack of shielding layer, and is not suitable for occasions with high confidentiality requirements. When selecting a network cable, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as specific application scenarios, confidentiality requirements, and cost budgets.
