blogThere are various ways to connect a network cable. Here are some common steps and methods:
Method 1: Manual winding method
Preparation tools: wire pliers, wire stripper (optional), insulating tape.
Peel off the outer skin of the mesh cable: Use mesh pliers or wire stripping knife to peel off the outer skin at both ends of the mesh cable to expose the 8 inner wire cores. The recommended peeling length is 2 to 3 cm.
Finish the cores: Sort the 8 cores according to the T568B standard (or other applicable standard). The color ordering of the T568B standard is usually white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, and brown.
Wrapping cores: Wrap the cores of the same color in two sections of mesh wires tightly together and fold them in half to increase the contact area.
Fixed cores: Wrap each pair of wrapped cores separately with insulating tape to ensure the stability of the connection.
This method is suitable for emergency use, but may not be stable. If possible, you can perform a tin tinning operation and then wrap the insulating tape to increase network stability.
Method 2: Use the network cable through head
Prepare tools and materials: wire clamp, RJ45 crystal head, wire through head.
Peel off the outer skin of the network cable: Also use network pliers to peel off the outer skin at both ends of the network cable.
Finish the cores: Sort the cores according to the T568B standard.
To make the crystal head: Insert the finished wire into the pin slot of the RJ45 crystal head, making sure that each wire is pushed to the end of the crystal head. Then use the cutting function of the mesh pliers to cut the front end of the wire and press the crystal head into the mesh cable.
Connect the straight-through head: Insert the two made crystal heads into the two ends of the straight-through head of the network cable to ensure a stable connection.
This method can ensure the stability of the connection, but additional materials and tools need to be prepared.
Method 3: Use Terminal Blocks
Prepare tools and materials: wire clamp, terminal block.
Peel off the outer skin of the network cable: Use network pliers to peel off the outer skin at both ends of the network cable.
Finish the cores: Sort the cores according to the T568B standard.
Insert the terminals: insert the cores of the same color in the two network cables into the corresponding jacks of the terminals, and press them hard.
This method is relatively simple to operate, and the terminals can provide better connection stability and waterproof and moisture-proof performance.
Precautions
Select the appropriate network cable: Choose the appropriate network cable specifications (e.g. Cat5e, Cat6, etc.) according to actual needs to ensure the stability and speed of network tranSMission.
Sort the cores correctly: Sort the cores according to the standard color to avoid connection errors that cause the network to fail.
Make sure the connection is stable: Whether using manual winding, cable through heads or terminals, it is necessary to ensure that the connection is stable and reliable to avoid network signal interruption or transmission quality degradation.
Through the above methods, you can easily complete the connection of the network cable. If you encounter difficulties or problems in actual operation, it is recommended to consult a professional network technician or refer to relevant tutorials and documents.
