The connection method of a POE (Power over Ethernet) power supply module with a power cord is relatively simple. Here are the detailed steps:
I. Preparation
Verify device compatibility: Ensure that POE power supply modules, switches, and devices that require power supply (such as wireless APs, network cameras, etc.) support POE power supply and are standard POE devices.
Prepare the network cable: POE power supply needs to use a network cable of Super Category 5 and above, and ordinary network cables cannot meet the power supply needs. The type of network cable can be viewed through the label on the network cable. Super Category 5 is UTP5e, and Category 6 is UTP6.
Second, the connection step
Connect the power cord: First, connect the power cord of the POE power supply module to the power socket to ensure that the power supply module is powered on normally.
Connect the POE interface: The POE power supply module usually has two network cable interfaces, one of which is marked with the word POE. Use both ends of a network cable to connect the POE interface of the POE power supply module and the equipment that needs POE power supply.
Connect switch: At another interface of the POE power supply module, use another network cable to connect the POE power supply module and the switch respectively. In this way, the switch can tranSMit data and power to the POE power supply module through the network cable.
III. Precautions
Network cable quality: The quality of the network cable has a great impact on the stability and efficiency of POE power supply. Therefore, when choosing a network cable, be sure to choose a network cable with reliable quality and compliant specifications.
Device compatibility: Before connecting, make sure that all devices support POE power and are standard POE devices. Otherwise, the device may not work properly or be damaged.
Safe use of electricity: When connecting power cords, be sure to pay attention to safe use of electricity to avoid dangerous situations such as electric shock or short circuit.
