Angola Power Corridor Communication Supporting Project Case Study|OPGW Fiber Optic Cable Delivery and Full Range of Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable Support
Project Overview
This project is located along a power line and highway corridor in Angola. The client's objective is to construct a stable fiber optic communication channel within the existing power line corridor for backbone transmission, dispatch communication, and subsequent network expansion. It has been finalized that the core requirement for this project is OPGW (Optical Ground Wire). The project also has branch access and extension requirements, necessitating the use of standard outdoor fiber optic cables to accommodate different routes and protection levels.
Key Customer Requirements
Using OPGW as the backbone, suitable for the operating environment of power line corridors
Reliable for long-term outdoor operation, stable transmission, and weather-resistant structure
Stable factory supply, good batch consistency, facilitating acceptance and subsequent maintenance traceability
Requires simultaneous support for outdoor optical cables in overhead/duct/direct burial modes, facilitating future expansion
Our core supplied product: OPGW optical cable (confirmed model direction for this project)
OPGW Product Positioning
OPGW combines the functions of optical fiber communication units and overhead ground wires, suitable for communication carrying scenarios in power line corridors, and can be used for power system communication and supporting communication network construction. This type of product is structurally designed to balance mechanical performance with long-term outdoor weather resistance, meeting the long-term operational requirements of power lines.
Structural Highlights
As can be seen from the cross-sectional structural diagram of the OPGW, the product consists of an outer layer of multi-layered metal wires for support and load-bearing, with a core of a stainless steel tube containing integrated optical fibers. The outer layer employs a combination of aluminum-clad steel wires and aluminum alloy wires to balance strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term operational stability.
